Directed by:
Burt Brinckerhoff
Eleven dogs (that's what I counted) decide they've had enough of playing fetch and terrorize a town, wiping out everyone at and around a small California college. The story is stupid, boring and talky, everything is too dark, lead actress Sandra McCabe can't scream, a strategically placed shower curtain hides a potential nude scene for future TV star Linda Gray (after a rabid poodle attacks) and, oh yeah, beware of ferocious felines coming soon to a town near you. Also available under the ingenious title DOGS. Some videos claim it was made in 1972. David McCallum and George Wyner star as college professors, along with Jim Stathis (THE BLACK ROOM) and Russ Grieve (THE HILLS HAVE EYES).

I know all too well that Dogs had an alternate title of Slaughter, but I'm curious why you chose that title when you organized movies alphabetically, especially because I've been under the impression that "Dogs" is the title for which it is best known.
Anyway, this is a stupid movie with a stupid plot and stupid characters. Nothing about it likable or redeeming, and I think I can only give it half a star as opposed to even one whole star. Did you know the ending of that cat meowing eerily was obviously meant to set up the film for a planned sequel appropriately titled Cats? But of course, Dogs was a box office flop, so plans for the sequel were dropped.
When I started this blog, I sometimes used the title I saw the film under. If I ever get around to watching this again and doing a proper review I probably WILL put it under "Dogs."
I probably would have preferred "Cats" because I'm more a cat guy myself, though this group of filmmakers probably would have made it boring somehow!
