I agree with your rating choice of Firestarter. I haven't watched this film in almost 20 years, but it was during the time I developed an interest in horror movies, including the works of Stephen King, and I remember not being very impressed with or even really scared by this movie, which was a far cry from how much I liked Carrie, The Shining, The Dead Zone, Cujo, and especially Misery. It felt more like a science fiction movie that a straight horror movie, making it stand out a bit from the conventional Stephen King novel adaptation.
Feel the same way but it's been ages since I last watched this one! It's definitely not up to par with all of the movies you just mentioned. Hopefully I'll have a chance to watch this one again and do a review for it. Have you seen the remake? I heard it was worse!
