The background on my tablet is actually the poster for Up from the Depths and I haven't even seen that yet.The Bloody Pit of Horrorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04419921450872885649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5214930440884348127.post-48087256719472772162016-11-13T01:13:17.845-05:002016-11-13T01:13:17.845-05:00I really like that hand drawn poster,I use it as ...I really like that hand drawn poster,I use it as wallpaper for my phone!
It's also great as a jungle adventure filmkontoculaihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13984825898934257688noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5214930440884348127.post-4440230533067389032013-09-06T00:36:23.447-04:002013-09-06T00:36:23.447-04:00I was a bit shocked at Martino's interview. Kn...I was a bit shocked at Martino's interview. Knowing nothing about him but enjoying many of his movies that was a bit of a disappointment. I was also surprised the people who put together the DVD actually analyzed the scene to disprove his claims as opposed to doing the usual turning-a-blind-eye and ass-kissing.

As far as animal killing for film goes, it's just something I don't care to see though the damage has already been done. When the animal is quickly put out of its misery it doesn't seem quite as horrible as what happened to, say, the monkey in this one. That was just cruelty cranked up to a disgusting level.

Yep, that turtle scene is also a tough one to watch, especially since it keeps moving (minus a head) WHILE it's being butchered. Hopefully it ended up being turtle soup and didn't go to waste. And Andress did indeed look great for her age.The Bloody Pit of Horrorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04419921450872885649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5214930440884348127.post-6542754751037213342013-09-05T01:59:57.335-04:002013-09-05T01:59:57.335-04:00Yep, unnecessary and repulsive was that scene. Ser...Yep, unnecessary and repulsive was that scene. Sergio himself is as repulsive for those lies as the scene itself.

I'm not a fan of animals dying with a camera that obsessively lingers on the whole gory display.

One scene I'm conflicted about is in Cannibal Holocaust because it does prove a point. The American crew not only kill this turtle, but they butcher it savagely for kicks. It is an early precursor to what they would do savagely to the jungle tribe. So it served a purpose, even if it explicitly shows an animal torn apart on screen in graphic detail.

But, so often, these animals are killed as you said, for shock value.

If it weren't for that monkey's disgusting murder, I think this is a fun jungle cannibal adventure, with Andress looking awfully good as she was entering her 40s.crowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04669900632326853467noreply@blogger.com
