Also remember it having some funny parts and some creative kills and decent camerawork.

Final Chapter was never one of my favorites either. I think it's popular because Savini was involved again and people like Corey Feldman and Crispin Glover are in the cast. The Bloody Pit of Horrorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04419921450872885649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5214930440884348127.post-21939579295852207152016-09-03T18:37:52.406-04:002016-09-03T18:37:52.406-04:00interesting that you liked #8. barely remember it,...interesting that you liked #8. barely remember it, outside of the times square bit. during promotion for TAKES MANHATTAN, rob hedden said he liked 1, 4, & 6, best. i found fans tend to praise FINAL CHAPTER (for some inexplicable reason) and blast NEW BEGINNING (hmph). i'll weigh in on 5 & 6 next week.spookyx3https://www.blogger.com/profile/16031768705430185415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5214930440884348127.post-53000778782231148892016-09-03T00:33:10.761-04:002016-09-03T00:33:10.761-04:00Part 6 is a fan favorite but I haven't seen it...Part 6 is a fan favorite but I haven't seen it for awhile so who knows what I'd think now. I remember Part 5, if nothing else, being the sleaziest of the first 8. Plan on watching the rest of these and giving them decent reviews at some point. The ones I remember liking the most were parts 1, 3 and 8 but that may change on a re-watch. MANY actually prefer #2 to the original (it did surprisingly well in the Orlok polls) but I'm not one of those people. The Bloody Pit of Horrorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04419921450872885649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5214930440884348127.post-89665138340255920022016-08-28T00:06:00.121-04:002016-08-28T00:06:00.121-04:00this is the first time i'm seeing PART 2. mara...this is the first time i'm seeing PART 2. marathoned most of the series (with GOES TO HELL) one weekend, starting at 3D, and sold the tapes before i got around to it. nobody would take NEW BLOOD, so that's the only FRIDAY i own.

i am thinking about getting that NEW BEGINNING/JASON LIVES double-feature blu-ray, since i vaguely recall those being the parts i "liked" best, and want to re-evaluate now. 5 had an agreeable, different look, and went way over-the-top with vulgarity. 6 sort of stood out, too, with intentional laughs. plus, as a ROTLD fan, i enjoyed thom mathews in the lead.

oh, yeah, PART 2. the beginning and ending were pretty good. hell, i was surprised at how watchable the first half was. then, the killing ramped up. ho-hum.spookyx3https://www.blogger.com/profile/16031768705430185415noreply@blogger.com
